- The Smartphone-Powered Gaming Laptop
Every year at CES Razer shows off a unique new laptop concept and this year is no different. Last year’s surprise was Project Valerie, a design featuring three 17-inch 4K displays that was obviously never going to become an actual retail product. This year’s concept, however, may have a chance of reaching consumers.Dubbed ‘Project Linda’, Razer revealed a 13.3-inch hybrid laptop that is powered by the company’s own Razer Phone. While this isn’t a strictly new idea, this is undoubtedly the sleekest implementation of the idea.
The Razer Phone docks into the laptop where the touchpad would ususually be and connects with the chassis at the push of a button. The chassis features a unibody aluminium design that is just 15mm thick and weighs under three pounds (including the phone). It features a 13.3-inch QHD 2560×1440 resolution touchscreen with a 120Hz refresh rate, same as the Razer Phone. The chassis houses a large 53.6Wh battery from which the phone can draw power instead of burning through its own internal battery. The chassis also houses a 200GB of storage – unknown is a hard drive or solid state drive – that store additional media or simply large mobile games. The full-sized keyboard is backlit and features Razer’s Chroma RGB LED lighting, which means a few million colour options.

2. World’s First Battery-less Wireless Gaming Mouse
In an impressive feat of technological innovation, Razer has just revealed the world’s first battery-less wireless gaming mouse powered by their new Hyperflux Wireless Power Technology. This new product consists of the Razer Mamba HyperFlux gaming mouse and the companion Razer Firefly HyperFlux power mat.
How it works is that the USB-powered mouse mat creates a magnetic field that continuously and seamlessly transfers power directly to the Mamba HyperFlux gaming mouse, so it never needs charging. Furthermore, since the mouse doesn’t need a heavy battery it can be as lightweight and flickable as a wired gaming mouse. If you need to travel and don’t want to carry the mat with you, no worries there is a wired mode with the included mouse cable.
The mouse communicates with the mat wirelessly via the 2.4GHz frequency band, and thanks to Razer’s proprietary Adaptive Frequency Technology (AFT) it constantly scans and switches to the strongest signal without hampering responsiveness.
